Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo

As I grow up, I became to know there are many people who did a good job for me to live conveniently. Many geniuses sacrifice their talents to do something, so I can more enjoy my life. Bill gates helped to supply Internet. King Sejong made HanKul to communicate. Due to Larry Page and Sergey Brin, I can use google to find fabulous video files. Last night I attached great video file from you tube in Google to my face book. It made me feel even happy. It was a video clip the song Vincent with his great works. Today I will tell you about Vincent van Gogh and his brother Theo.
Vincent van Gogh is also one of great genius in the section of art. We can easily see his work everywhere. We can see his pictures in the worksheets for the kids, on the wall in the nice restaurant and the wall in the subway, too. He died many years ago but his works still give us happiness and inspiration.
I want to focus on his life and his brother Theo.
Van Gogh is very familiar with many people not only his famous works but also his life. His life was very unique so many people feel sorry and excited at his works more than others. In my case, at first he was just one of great artist. But after reading his autobiography, I became his fan. His life was very shocking for me. I could not sleep that night. I found his life was very unusual and his works was not well treated. I could not understand why he was unhappy even though he did his best. Until then it is very natural for me doing someone’s best means someone’s success. But I found out it is not real. There can be an exception. I kept thinking If I were him, could I keep painting?
Vincent was highly emotional and lacked self-confidence. He was very sincere so he was preacher in a mine district in Belgium but he was dismissed from the church for overzealousness. He is a drop out in love and job. But these days we love his works which reflect his religious mind. Many people believe that this religious passion may be reflected in the eleven stars of the painting. He did not admit at that time he even kick off. I just surprised how he can keep painting in that difficult situation. I also try to have some belief and passion of my life.

When I think of him, I could not think about his brother Theo. Van gogh was fail to live as an ordinary people. After he determined to give happiness by creating beauty, his brothers Theo always encourage him and supported him, too. What if he had no brother like Theo, he could continue to paint? I am not sure that If I were him, I could support my sister or brother with all my heart. Even though Vincent Van Gogh was not lucky man, he has great brother who believe his talent and support him with all his heart. Behind Van Gogh’s great works, there is a dedicated brother. He was very warm-hearted person and has an eye for the beauty.

When Van Gogh suicided with a gun, Theo performed funeral service and then he died soon. What a coincidence!
Theo loved his brother as a family member and also respect him as a great artist. It was lucky for Van Gogh to have Theo. As a teacher, I tried not to have bias to meet students. I cannot promise I will be the person like Theo to my students, but I try to see them fairly and find out each persons’ talent and personality. It is not very easy but I will try to do it.

MoMA is an acronym of Museum of Modern Art. On Friday, after 6PM, it’s free to enter it. Do you know what they exhibit now? Yes, it is Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night. It will be going Through January 5, 2009. In Newark museum you can appreciate some impressionists’s work and In Metropolitan Museum, you can enjoy almost all famous impressionists’ work. I recommend you to go there. Even though I don’t have much information of art, it was good.
